Types of Tummies and How to Banish Them

Must read

When it comes to our figure, most of us have an issue with our belly. Our midsection can change its shape from time to time which can affect our overall look. There are times when our belly becomes distended, loose, flat, and so on. You’re probably wondering what makes our tummy change its shape. Well, there are many factors that can contribute to the ever changing shape of our midsection such as gas, weight gain, amount of food we consumed, and even bloating just to name a few. If you notice that your belly is noticeably bigger or that it has changed its shape, it might be because you have one of these types of tummies.

Alcohol belly

Alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, and the like can be a cause for our belly to become large. Yes, drinking wine is good for your health but too much of it can still contribute to our tummy growing. Keep in mind that alcoholic drinks are usually high in calories and drinking more than the required amount can actually be dangerous to your overall health including your physique. The good news is that you can prevent this from happening and that is by limiting your intake to a glass only. It would be better if you can avoid it altogether.

Stressed-out belly

It is also possible for our belly to change its shape because of the impact of stress and poor sleeping habits. When stressed, we tend to eat mindlessly or we don’t pay much attention to what goes inside our belly. This can lead to more fat being accumulated in our midsection causing our belly to become large. The same thing happens when we don’t get enough sleep. Our body needs rest in order to repair itself hence fat remains in our tummy.

Bloated belly

Another reason why our belly becomes distended is when we are suffering from digestive problems. This is not unusual given that the foods that we eat are often cause inflammation. Fortunately, you can correct this issue by drinking plenty of water daily as well as taking probiotics to help bring back the natural balance in your gut environment. You can do detox water too if you like to help flush out any toxins that may be causing your stomach to become bloated.

Hormonal belly

An imbalance in your hormones can cause you to gain weight which, in turn, can make your belly look bigger than usual. This is normal especially when your monthly period is nearing. For some instances, hormonal imbalance may be due to medication or health issue. With that being said, there are hormonal supplements that can help regulate your hormones or you can change your diet to less inflammatory foods like vegetables, fruits, seeds, and nuts.

Mommy belly

Mothers who just gave birth will still have an unusually shaped belly. There is nothing wrong with this because your belly will still have extra layers of fat. The best way to reduce belly fat due to pregnancy is through exercise and massaging it daily. Keep in mind that it will take time before you see a significant change in your belly but through hard work and dedication, you will be able to bring back the normal shape of your belly soon.

These are just a few examples of belly problems that we might come across from time to time. The good news is that you will be able to correct them as much as possible. Taking care of your belly can help prevent fats from forming in your midsection while will help you remain in good shape too.
