Must read

Wondering what else you can do with that head of bok choi stashed in your fridge other than steaming or stir-frying it together with other vegetables? Why not turn it into chips which you can snack on while watching your favorite sitcom or movie in the comfort of your home? Definitely better than potato chips or microwave popcorn!

Turning ordinary bok choi into crispy and delicious chips is really easy — there is really no need for you to be a seasoned chef in order to come up with the best bok choi chips on the planet. For as long as you know how to get the oven preheated, you are not going to have a hard time whipping up some delectable and healthy snacks.

What’s so nice about bok choi chips is they are very low in fat, so it means that you should feel no guilt when snacking on them — they won’t sabotage your weight loss journey. And being high in dietary fiber, you will find it easy to steer clear of those unwelcome cravings for unhealthy treats like cakes and ice cream.

Homemade bok choi chips is also free of any ingredient that can ruin your figure. What’s more, they supply your body with good amounts of antioxidants that fight off free radicals, potassium that helps lower blood pressure, and calcium, phosphorus and vitamin K that work together to strengthen the bones and ward off osteoporosis.

So without further ado, let’s check out the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 head of bok choi

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Sea salt

Directions:

-Get your oven preheated to 300°F or 150°C.

-Thoroughly rinse the head of bok choi under running water. Shake off excess water.

-Carefully, chop of the thick and stringy stems and discard.

-Start chopping your bok choi into chip-sized pieces. But it’s entirely up to you if you want them small or big.

-Grab a mixing bowl and toss your chopped up bok choi in it.

-Add olive oil and toss until every one of them gets coated.

-Neatly arrange the pieces of bok choi on a baking sheet. Make sure that they do not overlap one another.

-Sprinkle a little sea salt.

-Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes.

-Keep your eye on them. The minute they already look cooked and crisp, take the baking sheet out of the oven.

-Transfer the baking sheet onto a wire rack and allow your homemade bok choi chips to cool completely.

-Place on a serving plate and enjoy!

That’s how quick and easy it is to turn a head of bok choi into chips that won’t ruin your figure and overall health. They make for the perfect treats not only for adults, but also kids — most especially those that loathe vegetables!
