Hairstyling Hacks Moms Should Know

Must read

Mothers rarely have time to care for how they look what with making sure that the house is clean, the kids are fed and brought to school, and running errands and the like. Throw in office work and she’ll likely focus more of her efforts in finishing her tasks rather than pay attention to how she looks.

Fortunately, looking your best in spite of all the things that you need to do today is possible especially when it comes to managing your hair. Here are a few hairstyling hacks that you can try.

Flyaway hair woes. If your hair tends to fly away whenever you want to sport a sleek, and straight hairstyle, you will be happy to know that you can solve this problem by using hairspray and a makeup brush. Spray your heavy-duty hairspray on top of your flat makeup brush and apply on your hair to keep flyaways down. The best part is that your hair will remain smooth throughout the day with this trick.

Side French braid. If you are the hands-on kind of mom with your kids, you know how important it is to get your hair out of your face so there will be less obstruction. One hairstyle that you can do is the side French braid. First, you will need to part your hair from the side and divide it into three. Work a braid with these three until you reach the nape of your neck. From there, you can continue braiding your hair. You can wrap the ends of your hair on the opposite side of your hair if you wish or leave it hanging behind you.

Use the twirl technique. For moms who already have wavy hair, you can make your waves more defined by doing the twirling technique. This is fairly simple and easy to do. Section your hair then twirl the strands before applying a strong styling gel to it. Once your hair dries, you will find that your hair has more defined waves compared to before and they will last throughout the day too. No need to use a curling iron which can take up some of your time.

Do the top knot. You should do the top knot if you want to help lift your face. First, tie your hair and twist it around to create a bun on top of your head and pin it down with some bobby pins. You don’t have to tighten the bun at all as it will make your face look severe. Allow some hair strands to fall to soften the effect.

Two ponytail trick. To make your ponytail look fuller, you should try the two ponytail trick. Just divide your hair into two sections and tie them in a ponytail. Fluff them both to create more dimension to your ponytail and you’re done.

Achieve beach waves. Sometimes wearing your hair straight can be pretty boring. If you want to make some changes to your look even when you’re looking forward to a day of running around after your kids, you might want to try adding some beach waves to your hair. After you take a shower, divide your hair into five sections. Twist them so that they will be tight and close towards your head and allow them to dry. If you don’t have enough time to air dry your hair, use a blow dryer on the sections that are still damp. Loosen your hair afterwards to achieve that beach wave look with ease.
