Tips on Using Your Makeup Blender

Must read

Women are always in the lookout for the best makeup tools to use to make their mornings easier on them, and with the appearance of the makeup blender, almost everyone jumped into the bandwagon and bought one for their makeup kit. But are you really using it to its full capacity? Some are not really aware on how to use this blender tool correctly hence the misses on their makeup application.

What’s the right way to use the makeup blender? Here are a few tips that you can try out.

Identify your makeup blender

There are different types of makeup blender being sold today and each one has a different purpose. For example, the regular pink one is commonly used for applying liquids, creams, and concealer, while the black one is idea for applying your bronzer or self-tanner. Learn the differences so you will know what they are designed for.

Learn the parts

Once you have settled on one, it’s time to learn its parts. You’ve probably noticed that this beauty blender comes in an egg shape. Well, the pointed end is typically used for areas that are hard to reach such as the nose, eyes, and mouth. The curved side, on the other hand, is ideal for the nose wing as well as your chin. As for the bottom portion, this is suitable for the larger areas on your face such as your cheeks and forehead.

Dampen your makeup blender

Now that you know the basics, and are ready to use it, you should first immerse your blender in lukewarm water. You might think that this is weird but using a damp sponge makes it easier for you to apply your makeup for a flawless look. Of course, it has to be damp and not soaking wet or even way too dry because it will not work well. If you are using a dry sponge, you’re going to have a hard time dabbing it, and a wet one will cause your foundation to become sheer and streaky too which you don’t want to happen.

Apply makeup

When applying makeup using a makeup blender, put your foundation first on the back of your hand then dip your blender in it before spreading it on your skin. This prevents you from wasting or putting too much in one area. For foundation, simply tap the foundation on your skin before spreading it out with your make up blender.

Pinch egg

The best way to use this blender when it comes to foundation is to pinch it as you sweep it back and forth on its sides as you work on your face. This will help spread the foundation better for a more even look.

Go to a 90-degree angle

If there are areas on your skin that needs additional coverage, hold your makeup blender in a 90-degree angle then stipple with the tip for better coverage. You will find it easier to spread your foundation properly this way and you don’t even have to worry about any unevenness too.

Hide the dark circles

As for those dark circles under your eyes, simply use the side of the tip as you roll it under the eyes to make the dark circles disappear. You’ll find that your foundation is applied evenly using this technique especially on this part of your face.

The makeup blender isn’t just for applying foundation as it can be used to apply other makeup such as bronzer, concealer, loose powder and so on. It’s just a matter of knowing how to use this tool that will make it your favorite in your makeup kit.
