It will also prevent the nail from becoming brittle and dry, giving it that shiny surface. These remedies are great for people that have dry skin and nails. Simply massage, olive oil on the nails and cuticles. Massage it in circular motion and leave it on the nails for half an hour. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Avocados

Avocados contain protein, fat and nutrients to rejuvenate worn out and brittle nails. The fat in avocado can also give the nails its shiny surface. Eating avocado everyday can give the nails its needed nutrients and minerals to make it healthier. A great topical application for the nails is avocado oil. This oil is high in antioxidant, minerals and vitamins that is essential to healthy nails and hair. You can apply avocado on the nails in two ways. First, mix half a ripe avocado with a tablespoon of rose water. Massage this mixture on your nails and leave it on for 15 minutes or more. Second, create a nail soak by taking a bowl of water and mixing in 2 tablespoons of avocado oil. Soak your fingers in this mixture for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Milk

Milk will give nails a long lasting shine. Milk contains nutrients that can help moisturize and create a protective coating on the nail. This is an easy home remedy that anyone can do at home. Place warm milk in a bowl and soak your nails for 15 minutes. Wash off the milk with cold water and apply nail cream to lock in the nourishment in the nails.

Lemon

Lemons can remove the yellow stains in your nails caused by nail polish. It will help brighten the nail, remove grime, and make the surface shiny. All you need is lemon juice, vinegar, warm water and a used toothbrush. Soak your nails in lemon juice for ten minutes. Take a tablespoon of vinegar and add a cup of water. Dip your toothbrush in this mixture and scrub it on the nails. This process will remove the impurities in the nails. Rinse off the mixture with warm water and mild soap. Apply moisturizer after to keep your skin hydrated.
