DIY Face Wash Recipes to Try

Facial washes can help remove buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin while hydrating and rejuvenating your skin. Although there are several facial washes that are available today, it pays to make your own because you know what goes in it. Here are a few recipes for you to try.

Tea tree oil facial cleanser 

You will need ¼ cup of castor oil, ¼ cup of jojoba oil, ½ cup grape seed oil, and 15 drops of tea tree oil. Add all the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until they are all combined. Store the mixture in a clean glass jar. To use this cleanser, you should get a small amount on your fingers and massage gently on your skin for a minute. Don’t scrub. Wet a washcloth with hot or warm water then place over your face. Leave it on until the cloth cools. 

Exfoliating orange 

Oranges are good for your skin because it contains high amounts of vitamin C as well as antioxidants. It soothes inflamed skin while refreshing it. You will need 35 drops of sweet orange essential oil, 8 ounces of liquid castile soap, and 1 teaspoon of ground orange peel. Mix the ingredients together until they are blended well then store in a glass container. Use as you would any facial wash. 

Coconut oil and honey face wash 

Coconut oil is good for the skin as it contains essential fats that will leave our skin properly moisturized. Honey is a humectant which can help heal your skin too. For this recipe, you will need to mix ¼ cup of coconut oil, 5 drops of lavender essential oil, and 2 tablespoons of honey in a bowl. Transfer the contents into a small container. Wash your face first with warm water then get a nickel sized amount of the oil in your palm. Rub them together to warm it up then massage on your skin in a circular motion with your fingertips. After 30 to 45 seconds wash your face to remove the oil.

Floral gardens 

This floral face wash is going to help stimulate cell growth and can be used as an astringent too. You need to combine 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 8 ounces of liquid castile soap, and 25 drops of geranium essential oil. Mix the ingredients thoroughly then transfer to an empty glass jar with a tight lid. The combination of geranium and lavender not only promotes healthy skin but they can also cool down any inflammation that you might be suffering from. 

These DIY face wash recipes are just a few examples that you should start with if you want to go all natural with your skin care products. Essential oils can help penetrate into your skin better which is why they are useful options when it comes to improving your skin’s current health.
