Superfoods to Eat for Healthy Hair

Must read

Women just can’t get enough of having shiny and beautiful hair to the point that they splurge on hair care products that can make their locks soft and easy to maintain. But if you are going to read the list of ingredients that go in each of these products, you will find that they are not exactly helping your hair strands at all. Is there another way to save your gorgeous hair?

Well, how about adding these superfoods to your diet?

Vitamin C.

Foods that are rich in vitamin C should be added to your diet because you need this vitamin C to increase your absorption of iron. Another reason to have vitamin C from fruits and vegetables is that they can help increase the amount of antioxidants that you have in your body to protect you against inflammation and other diseases that can make your hair appear brittle and dull.

Whole grains.

We are guilty of being fond of eating foods that are rich in carbohydrates but the sad fact is that carbs can actually be detrimental to your hair’s overall growth not to mention your health too. But opting for complex carbs that come from whole grains is much better because they can deliver vitamin B that your hair needs for it to become stronger.

Omega-3.

Our body needs essential fatty acids but the problem is that we can’t make it on our own. This is why you should make it a point to introduce foods that contain this important nutrient to your diet. Fish like salmon, tuna, and sardines are among those that have loads of omega-3 but if fish is not your type, you can opt for avocado, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds as they do have this fatty acid in them.

Milk.

Another superfood that will benefit your hair in the long run is milk. Milk contains calcium that is not only good for your bones and teeth but your hair too. You can drink whole milk or non-fat milk if you like as long as you drink it. You can even add some in your coffee or smoothie if you like to get this important mineral into your system.

Vitamin E.

Stepping outdoors means getting exposed to the sun but if you think that your skin alone will get damaged from the harsh rays of the sun, think again. Even your hair can suffer from the glare of the sun which is why you need to make sure that you have adequate amounts of vitamin E in your system not only to repair your damaged hair cells but also to strengthen your hair strands too. Nuts are one of the best sources of vitamin E as well as zinc and selenium all of which are needed to promote better looking hair.

With these superfoods being part of your daily diet, you will see a significant improvement to your hair in no time. There are more out there to consider but you can start with these and see how your hair will fare.
