Not everyone can turn off their brain to go into sleep mode. With our bodies tense after a long day at work, our thoughts are constantly in overdrive. Unfortunately, late nights can take a toll on our health, not to mention our physical state. Just imagine waking up to dark circles under your eyes or puffy eyes because you were barely able to sleep a wink. Fortunately, there are some tricks that can make you drift off to sleep faster. Here are some examples for you to try.

Inhale through left nostril 

Is overheating or even hot flushes keeping you wide awake at night? One remedy for this is to inhale through your left nostril. This yoga method can help lower your blood pressure so you will go into a calm state of mind. To do this remedy, lie on your left side then press down on your right nostril. Inhale and exhale through your left nostril for a few minutes. 

Eat right to sleep better 

Insomnia can keep you wide awake for hours, this is true, but you can minimize its effects. One way to alleviate insomnia is to eat foods that are rich in vitamin B6 and magnesium as these can help put you to sleep. 

Rewind 

Another useful trick that you can do to go into sleep mode is to rewind the events of the day. Try to remember every detail that happened to your day, even the mundane ones, and soon enough your mind will enter sleep mode.

Essential oils are useful 

Incorporating essential oils to your night routine can also help you drift off to sleep fairly quickly. Diffuse some lavender, chamomile, or even some rosemary in your bedroom so that you will be able to go into a calm state of mind. You can add a few drops of lavender on your pillows so you can inhale its scent as you sleep. 

Hum to yourself 

Another trick to get you dozing soon enough is to hum to yourself. This yoga meditation requires you to sit in a comfortable position with your shoulders dropped, eyes closed, and your jaws relaxed. Your mouth should remain closed. Breathe deeply through your nose then push the air through your closed mouth. You will feel vibrations running in your chest. Pay attention to the vibrations as you breathe in and out six times.

Exercise in the morning 

If you’ve been doing your workout routine in the afternoon or evening, you might want to switch it to early in the morning. Getting your workout session done in the morning leave you plenty of room to go into a more relaxed state by the time night sets in. This way, it will be easier for you to slip into sleep when it is time for bed. 

These are just a few tips and tricks on how you can train yourself to go to sleep easily. You can do all of these if you like until you find one that works best for you.
