    Ginger tea

    Ginger has always been touted as one of the best remedies for headaches which is not surprising given that it can lessen the inflammation in the blood vessels located in your head to help ease the pain. Another plus to ginger is that it can also help with your digestion which can get rid of nausea which may come with migraines.

    Acupressure

    Another way to help alleviate your migraine naturally is through acupressure. By stimulating specific points in your body to help ease the muscle tension to reduce the pain. Look for the LI-4 point which is the space found between the base of your left thumb and your pointing finger.

    Basil

    You should also try basil when you have a headache because it is packed with analgesic properties. The oil is efficient as a muscle relaxant which can alleviate the headache that you are suffering from caused by tight and tense muscles. For this remedy, you will need basil leaves, a tablespoon of honey, and a cup of water. Steep the leaves in boiling water and let them simmer for a few minutes. Add the honey afterwards and sip it slowly. If you don’t have any problem eating the leaves, chew some fresh basil leaves to help ease the tension in your head.

    Diet changes

    Another remedy to help prevent migraine attacks is to make changes to your diet. This is due to the fact that some foods can actually trigger migraines like processed foods, alcohol, caffeinated beverages, red wine, and chocolate just to name a few. If you know what your triggers are, it is a good idea to avoid them as much as possible.

    Ice

    Placing an ice pack at the back of the neck can alleviate your migraine. The cold that comes from the ice pack can help minimize the inflammation to alleviate the headache. Another reason why ice is good for your migraine is that it can numb the pain too.
