DIY Skin Care Recipes that You Will Love

Must read

Our skin needs all the love and care that we can give it not only to keep our skin smooth and glowing but also to keep signs of aging at bay. Although there are literally hundreds of skin care products being sold today, making your own skin care recipe is definitely worth a try since you will have more control over what you apply on your skin. Making your own skin care recipe may be daunting at first, but you might be surprised on how easy it is to make one especially when you see the list of ingredients because some of them are already in your kitchen. If this sounds interesting to you, then read the recipes below.

Jojoba oil and rose water cleanser. Cleansing should be an essential part of your skin care routine as it helps remove any clogs on your pores regardless of whether you are wearing makeup or not. Unfortunately, the cleansers that are available in stores tend to be harsh on the skin and can strip it of its natural oils too. By making your own cleanser, you will be saving your skin from harsh chemicals in no time. For this recipe, you will need jojoba oil, muslin face cloths, cotton cosmetic pads or cotton balls, and rose water spray. Moisten the cotton ball or pad first with warm water and apply around 3 drops of jojoba oil. Wipe your face and neck with it. Get a muslin cloth and moisten it with warm water. Apply on your face for five seconds. Rinse and moisten the cloth once more and apply for another five seconds on your neck. This helps improve blood circulation in the skin.

Apple cider vinegar facial toner. Aside from cleansers, we also need to use a toner on our skin to help bring back the natural pH levels of our skin. However, commercial toners contain chemicals that wreak havoc on our skin which is why it is always a good idea to make your own using apple cider vinegar and filtered water. If you have sensitive skin, simply mix one part ACV with 4 parts water. On the other hand, if you have oily skin, just mix one part each of water and ACV. For dry or normal skin, just mix one part ACV and two parts water.

Argan oil body scrub. We are all guilty of forgetting about our body when it comes to our beauty routine but if you tried exfoliating your body, you will certainly fall in love with the silky smooth texture of your skin afterwards. The good news is that you can make your own body scrub using ½ cup of unused coffee grinds, ¼ cup of brown sugar, 1/3 cup of pure Argan oil, small bowl or cup, and a spoon to mix the ingredients. Just mix all the ingredients in a small bowl and apply 3 to 4 tablespoons of the scrub on your body. Massage the scrub in a circular motion until you have covered your entire body with  it. Wash your body afterwards with warm water. Make sure that you rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.

Honey face mask. Honey is a definitely must-have in any beauty routine as it has healing properties that can alleviate the effects of acne. But aside from making acne disappear, honey face masks have different uses too such as treating various skin issues as well as nourishing and moisturizing the skin. Making your own honey face mask is relatively simple. You just need a teaspoon of raw honey to apply on your face and neck but you can add other ingredients such as olive oil, avocado, egg white, and even lemon juice to name a few. Each ingredient has its own unique skin benefit which you might want to look into. Apply the mask on your face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. To remove the mask, apply a small amount of coconut oil on top of it and massage it gently. This will make the honey face mask come off easily while moisturizing your skin in the process. Rinse with cool water.
