Start Getting Organized This Year

Must read

This 2018, we are still living a cluttered life. Who’s guilty, raise your hands? For sure, there are certain aspects in our lives where we feel more organization needs to be done so why not start this year? There is simply no excuse for us to not be organized especially when there are quite a lot of ways in which you can bring order back to your life. Sounds interesting? Here are some tips to help start getting organized this year. Who knows? You might make it a habit to practice in the long run.

Write things down

If you want to start organizing your life, the first step is to write things down. Writing down the tasks that you need to accomplish in the day or week, or month even, can help declutter your mind and keep it focused on your immediate needs. It also helps keep you from becoming overwhelmed with the amount of work that you need to do and because you are writing it down, you will be able to plan ahead too.

Make schedules

Time management is essential if you want to keep yourself organized throughout the year. Since you have written down the tasks and goals you want to achieve, then break them down into smaller goals and set a deadline for yourself. This way, you will be able to prepare your mind and your body knowing that you have a timeline for the work ahead of you. Getting each task done will give you the confidence you need knowing that you are making progress with your goals.

Have a monthly bill tracker

Another step that will help you stay organized this year is to have a monthly bill tracker. This will help you keep track of your funds and what bills you need to pay and when. This will also give you an idea on the things that you spend on and how much you get to save. Use this monthly bill tracker to keep an eye on your savings so you will know how to adjust your lifestyle as needed.

File and throw away old receipts

We often keep receipts from time to time so why not organize them properly? This way, you will be able to determine which receipts need to be kept and which ones can be thrown in the trash after the year is out. Put them in file folders with correct labeling so you won’t have to go through all of your receipts just to find the one that you need.

Do it now

Most of us are guilty of procrastination which is why we often end up feeling rushed when the deadline is looming. If you know that the task needs to be done as soon as possible, then start moving. Procrastinating for five seconds can actually stop you from doing the task on hand. As much as possible, get everything out of the way so you will have more room and time for you to do the things that you need to do for yourself.
