Late night cravings are normal but you should make sure that what you eat does not have high calorie content so that you will still be able to sleep after.

Here are some snacks you might want to try if your stomach comes knocking in the middle of the night:

Apples

Peanuts are full of fiber, monounsaturated fats and protein without the danger of high cholesterol content. What also makes them great is cracking the peanuts open in itself can be some sort of exercise.

Non-fat yogurt

Not only is yogurt rich in protein and calcium, it is also proven to aid the human body’s digestive processes. Just make sure that the yogurt you eat is non-fat and has low sugar content.

Dark Chocolate

Unlike white and milky chocolate, dark chocolate has 70 percent less cacao content and has more antioxidants. It is also known to keep your brain sharp, protect the skin against destructive UV rays from the sun and improve eyesight.

Salty Carrot Chips

Instead of fattening potato chips, you can choose to eat salted carrot chips which are much healthier. Crispy and light, a serving is estimated to only have 79 calories.

Pistachios

Pistachios have been proven to lower cholesterol and reduce chances of getting heart disease. Among nuts, pistachios also have the lowest calorie count per serving.

Hard-boiled eggs

Eggs are full of essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin D and the B vitamin group. It is also a great source of healthy protein and is easy to cook. Just put eggs in boiling water and you will be eating in more or less ten minutes.
