Practice good posture. Sitting for long periods of time can lead to back pain especially when you’re slouching on your chair or you are bending forward too much. Even when you’re sitting down, you still need to practice proper posture as this will not only reduce back pain but it will also prevent your spine from getting too much pressure. This might sound uncomfortable at first but you’ll get used to it as long as you practice every day.

Take breaks. As much as you would like to get your work done as quickly as possible, sitting too long can have a negative impact on your back which is why it is recommended that you take breaks every 30 minutes or so. This can be something simple as walking around the office or doing some light stretching to ease the tension from your muscles.
Don’t rest too much. There is a common misconception that you need to rest when you have back pain. Unfortunately, lying in bed can actually worsen your condition. Heat and cold. Another possible remedy to lessen back pain is to apply some heat or cold compress on the affected area. The cold can help numb the area to lessen the pain while the heat can reduce inflammation.
