Check Out This DIY Collagen Eye Mask Recipe

Must read

These days, collagen eye masks are some of the top beauty products out there. You can see them being used by so many women — from celebrities, celebrity wannabes to plain Janes — on various social media sites.

Many can attest to the effectiveness of collagen eye masks, but many can also confirm that they are usually costly. Due to the steep price tags of the best collagen eye mask brands around, lots and lots of pocket-friendly imitations come aplenty. Unfortunately, they only flush your money down the drain as they fail to impress.

Luckily, you don’t have to spend a lot of cash on popular brands of collagen eye masks or waste your hard-earned money on cheaper ones that do not deliver. That’s because it is very much possible for you to come up with your very own collagen eye mask that can impress using only a few and usually cheap ingredients.

After checking out the recipe below, kindly share this article on your various social media sites to let your beauty- and budget-conscious family and friends know how to make collagen eye masks from scratch!

But before we take a look at the steps on making DIY collagen eye masks, let us first get to know some of the reasons why it is actually a wonderful idea for you to regularly use collagen eye masks.

Everyone knows that skin around the eyes is very thin and sensitive. It’s exactly for this reason why wrinkles appear very easily around your peepers, in particular the area just below them. The process of aging and excessive exposure to the sun can cause the area under the windows to your soul appear wrinkly and also saggy.

By encouraging the production of collagen, it is possible to make skin below your eyes to appear tighter and younger, too. One of the things that you can do to help increase collagen production is by consuming foods that are rich in vitamin C — this nutrient is essential for the body’s synthesis of collagen.

Then you may also deliver vitamin C directly to where it is needed, and this is how collagen eye masks (well, at least the best ones on the current market) work!

Other than getting your hands on those pricey collagen eye masks that are proven to work excellently or cheap variants that are unlikely to work, you may simply whip up your very own collagen eye masks that allow you to save a little money. To get started with this DIY beauty project, check out this easy-to-follow recipe:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of raw cashews

1/2 cup of water

1/4 cup of coconut milk

2 small slices of pineapple

1 squeeze of fresh lemon

4 scoops of beef gelatin

1 small pack of marine collagen

Parchment paper

Directions:

-In a blender, combine cashews, water, coconut milk, pineapple, lemon juice and marine collagen. Blend until the consistency is very smooth.

-Transfer to a sauce pan and heat using low-medium heat.

-While stirring with a wooden spoon, slowly add beef gelatin. Allow to simmer for a couple of minutes and then remove from heat.

-Using a tablespoon, place large dollops of it on a parchment paper. Make sure that each dollop is large enough for you to cut an eye mask-shaped piece out of it.

-Once cool, cut eye mask shapes using a sharp knife or a pair of scissors.

-Use as you would store-bought collagen eye masks. Extra masks should be stored in water.
