Sage leaf or salvia officinalis (sage) has many health and beauty benefits. It’s a grayish, green leaf native in Mediterranean region. The plant sage or ‘salvia’ in Latin means ‘to save’ because of its healing properties. The sage leaves are made by crushing it and put in a boiling water to treat asthmatic or nasal type ailments. Some use it as tea or just chew it directly for treatment of respiratory ailment, gastrointestinal or even skin problems.

Sage leaf is extracted to produce the oil that are added to skin care products. It is commonly used as spice to enhance some cuisine flavors. And according to some research, a continual use of sage oil or spice in the food, will improve the skin and hair renewal process making it more healthier.

– Bring to a boil one cup of boiling water for 10 minutes – Then strain.
– Then after cooling the liquid part, put in a spray bottle.

You can apply it daily. Directly on the scalp and hair where the gray appears.

Leave on for up to 10 minutes, then shampoo and style as normal.

4. Relieves and Improves Annoying Skin Conditions

The sage oil is also used as treatment for acne, chapped skin, athlete’s foot, eczema and psoriasis. It is mostly added to face and body wash, anti-fungal cream and deodorant. It is also used for dandruff and as insect repellent for our skin. A natural way of using it is by using as facial wash done by brewing the sage leaves.
