Makeup Do’s and Don’ts for Everyone

Must read

Women can’t be caught leaving their house without wearing any makeup. Even swiping some lipstick on their lips is enough to make them look and feel good. Imagine how you’d feel when you manage to put on your makeup correctly! But for those who are struggling with the use of their blushes, foundation, eye makeup and the like, you’re probably wondering if there are any do’s and don’t’s that you need to know of. Fortunately, there are makeup tips that can help you apply makeup like a pro. Here are a few things that you need to know about makeup.

Foundation

The first thing on your list should be to start with a foundation and a primer to act as the base for today’s look. This means that you will have to cleanse and nourish your skin prior to applying your foundation. This step is necessary because the makeup will adhere to your skin easily and will not get removed just as fast. If you are looking for a foundation to use for your makeup routine, make sure that you don’t match the foundation on the skin on your neck. Keep in mind that the color of your skin at your neck can be lighter compared to your face.

Clean brushes

Another do that should be on your makeup routine is to clean your brushes every few weeks or so. This is important because makeup particles can stick to your brushes that can affect how your makeup looks on your skin. What’s more, since you will be bringing your makeup brushes with you all the time, there is a huge chance that you are transferring bacteria that you have picked up along the way. If you keep using the same old brushes, it might clog your pores which can lead to infection. Clean your brushes every week as much as possible.

Concealer

If you are going to use a concealer on your skin because you are worried about the unexpected blemishes that cropped overnight, make sure that the concealer that you are using is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone. And if you are planning on using one under your eyes, a color corrector should be applied first to help negate the black and blue veins. This will yield better results too.

Magnifying mirror

Another do that should be on your list for your makeup routine is to invest on a magnifying mirror. This is actually one of the best kept secrets of makeup artists everywhere as this allows them to see whether the makeup that they have applied has enough coverage. You’ll find that applying makeup in the morning while using a magnifying mirror can help you achieve your desired results.

Powder

To avoid your foundation from melting, make sure that you dust some setting powder on your face after you have applied your foundation. You might be tempted to use a foundation powder for this, but beauty experts do not recommend it.

Moisturizer

Is it really a good idea to skip applying moisturizer after washing your face in the morning? The answer is no. You see, when you apply your foundation on dry skin, it is inevitable that you will see some flaking starting to happen. This is quite embarrassing to say the least. Applying moisturizer prior to applying your foundation and the rest of your makeup means that they will be able to stick well on your skin without causing your makeup to crack afterwards.
