Spider veins can appear on your legs and ankles, but don’t you worry. They are not something to worry yourself about because they are pretty harmless. Some report of a burning or itching sensation around the area of the spider veins but this can easily disappear. However, they can make you a bit conscious on how your legs look like when they are not covered. - Witch hazel. This home remedy is known for its anti-inflammatory and astringent properties making it one of the best solutions to combat the appearance of spider veins. The tannins and oils that are present in this herb can help shrink your spider veins until they are barely visible. All that you have to do is to soak a cotton ball and apply it on your spider veins. Do this 2 to 3 times in a day to reduce the appearance of spider veins.
- Cayenne pepper. Another remedy to treat your spider veins is cayenne pepper. The capsaicin present in cayenner pepper can help boost blood circulation in your veins while at the same time reducing any inflammation so your spider veins won’t be too obvious. Simply add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a cup of hot water, stir, and drink afterwards. You should do this two times a day. You can also add cayenne pepper when you cook to get it into your system to help boost your blood circulation.
- Mustard and sesame oil. The combination of mustard and sesame oils are commonly used in many Ayurvedic treatments and as such, can also be used when treating spider veins. What this treatment can do is to improve blood flow and to minimize the blue and red lines from your spider veins. Just mix a few drops of either sesame or mustard oil in your choice of carrier oil and apply it on your spider veins. Massage for a few minutes to help get the blood flowing properly. You should do this twice a day to speed up the healing process.
- Ginger. You can also use ginger when you want to make your spider veins disappear as it can break down fibrin, which is a type of blood protein, in areas where the veins have been damaged or inflamed. Another plus to using ginger is that it can reduce your blood pressure which minimizes your risk of heart problem. Cut a small piece of ginger and slice it thinly. Add the slices to 2 cups of boiling water and let them steep for 10 minutes. Strain the solution afterwards and add honey to give it a sweeter taste. Stir it properly and drink to help remove spider veins.
