A Guide to Korean Hair Care Routine

Must read

Korean women are not only known for their porcelain looking skin but also for their beautiful hair. Just like the way they treat their skin, Koreans are known to put a lot of effort into maintaining their mane which is something worth copying if you want to improve your own mane especially when stress can take a toll on its overall health. With that being said, the question now is how to follow a Korean hair care routine.

Fortunately, this is an easy one as this guide will show you how. Let’s get started.

Scalp treatment. If you are going to ask Koreans how they are able to maintain their gorgeous hair, most of them will answer: scalp treatments. According to Koreans, keeping the scalp free from product build up, dirt, and other debris that can clog the pores, the hair follicles will be able to grow better and healthier too. Look for a deep scalp scaler to use on your head to clear up any build up.

Invest in comb or hair brush. Another tip that Koreans have shared with regards to their hair care routine is that they use more than one hair brush or comb. For example, if you want to massage your scalp while brushing your hair, you will need to have a cushion brush with you. There are other types of brushes being sold today based on different hair types so you might want to look at these and see which ones are appropriate for your hair care routine.

Shampoo and scalp massage. You will also need to invest on the right kind of shampoo that won’t strip your hair of its natural oils. Korean hair care shampoo are usually made up of natural ingredients that are gentle on the scalp and hair. Also, shampoo may be everything when it comes to hair care but you also need to remember to give your scalp a good massage. Using a scalp brush when you take a bath can help increase the amount of lather on your hair but it can also help with stimulating blood flow in this area too. Getting plenty of oxygen to your scalp can improve the hair follicles which can promote better hair growth too.

Egg white hair pack. Egg white is a common ingredient in many facial masks especially as it is quite useful when reducing oiliness in the skin. Koreans, on the other hand, are using egg whites for their DIY hair pack too. To make this hair pack, you need to separate the egg white from the yolk, whisk it until the texture becomes foamy and then apply on your scalp. Make sure that you spread it evenly to cover the entire scalp. Leave it on for 10 minutes or so then rinse it off with cool water. See to it that you have removed the entire hair mask. This will help clean the hair follicles and will prevent your scalp from becoming greasy.

Condition your hair. Another secret that Koreans use for their hair is to condition it properly. Don’t use those 2-in-1 kind of shampoo/conditioner as it can dry your hair faster and leave it prone to split ends as well as tangles. If you’ve been using a conditioner with little to no effect on your hair, do leave it on longer. The goal of the conditioner is not only to remove the tangles but also to condition it. You will see a noticeable difference to your hair when you do this for sure so do it on your next bath time.
