Add a squeeze of half a lemon to complete the mixture. Gargle with this sore throat solution to ease the swelling and pain caused by sore throat.

Steam. Another solution to your sore throat woes is to use steam to open up your air passages as well as throat to reduce the swelling that obstructs your throat.
