Consuming too much protein. Protein does help burn fats but too much of it can do the opposite effect. Keep in mind that high protein shakes and bars contain fats and sugar too so be wary when including them in your weight loss diet.

Not eating vegetables. Yes, you eat vegetables from time to time but ask yourself if you are actually consuming 2.5 cups of veggies per day. The best thing to do to reach this recommended amount is incorporate vegetables in your meals starting from your breakfast all the way to dinner. This will help speed up your metabolism so you can burn calories constantly.

Drinking fruit juice. You might think that drinking fruit juice can help you with your weight loss goals but you need to keep in mind that not all fruit drinks are good for you. As a matter of fact many fruit juices being sold in groceries don’t even contain any fruit at all. However, even 100% fruit juice is not recommended as they still contain sugar which isn’t really good for you. It would be better if you stick with eating whole fruits only or, if you have just done an intense workout, your body will be able to tolerate a glass of fruit juice to replenish your energy levels.

Skipping fats. Just because you are trying to lose excess fats it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat foods that contain fats. Saturated fats which are present in butter, eggs, coconut oil, and even red meat are actually healthy and can help you with your weight loss goals.

Overestimating the amount of weight lost. During the first few weeks of your diet program, you will see quite a few pounds disappearing. This will surely push you to work harder in your diet program but don’t get frustrated when the number of pounds you are losing starts to dwindle. This is quite normal as your body balances everything out.

Losing weight is tough but so is making these mistakes over and over again. By being aware of what is good and what is not for your diet, you will be able to achieve your weight loss goals faster compared to before for sure.
