Shaving is one of the fastest ways to remove unwanted hair on your face, under the arms, and even the legs. However, there are times when razor burns appear after shaving a certain part of your body. Razor burns typically appear as a red welt or rash on the skin that can become inflamed when not treated immediately.   • Apple cider vinegar. One way to treat razor burns is to use apple cider vinegar. This solution contains anti-inflammatory properties which can soothe the itching while reduce inflammation. As a bonus, apple cider vinegar can fight off infection as well. You just need to dab a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply on the affected skin. Let it dry first before washing it off.
  • Strawberry after shave paste. If your skin becomes irritated after you shave, you can make an after shave paste using strawberries to reduce the itching and redness. To create the paste, mash some strawberries and mix in sour cream until you get the right consistency. Apply the paste on the affected area and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash afterwards with warm water.
  • Aloe vera. Another useful remedy against razor burns is aloe vera. The gel found in the leaves of the plant contains anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, as well as healing properties that can soothe and heal razor burns. Just rub the gel on the irritated skin and allow it to dry. Rinse afterwards with water. You can repeat this treatment two to three times a day to speed up the healing process.
  • Tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has plenty of uses and one of them is treating razor burns. It’s easy to use to because you only need to apply the oil on the affected area and it will help moisturize and heal the skin. If you are using lotion after you shave, you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to it before applying on your skin to help heal irritated skin.
  • Honey. Of course, when it comes to treating the skin which suffers from irritation due to shaving, honey should be included in your list of natural remedies to try. One reason behind this is that honey contains antibacterial, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatories that not only reduces the swelling but can also soothe irritated skin while at the same time, moisturize and heal the damaged area. Just apply some honey on the damaged area and allow it to dry before rinsing off with cold water.
