Start steaming

One of the age-old remedies for post nasal drip is steaming. Steaming your nasal passages actually helps in loosening up the accumulated mucus at the back of your throat. Although setting up a humidifier in your room can help you out, it is much better to take a hot shower instead. And if you want your shower time to be extra soothing, add a few drops of peppermint oil to your bathroom floor to create an instant nasal remedy.

Hydrate regularly

We all need to drink every day to keep our body well-hydrated, but when you are dealing with post nasal drip, you will need to double your effort into putting fluids in your system. Drinking water is the most common method, but there are other ways to ramp up the fluids in your body such as drinking bone broth, tea, and even eating fruits and vegetables that are filled with water.

Raise your head while in bed

Another simple home remedy to alleviate the symptoms of post nasal drip is to keep your head elevated while in bed. A lot of people may not know this, but the post nasal drip that you are suffering from may be triggered by GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease. The burning acid that backs up your throat can also cause irritation in the throat area thus aggravating your post nasal drip. Fortunately, you can prevent this from happening by lifting your head a few inches. Not only will this prevent the stomach acids from going back up, but it will also help reduce the symptoms of post nasal drip.
