Household Remedies to Cleanse the Skin

Must read

Cleansing the skin can help remove any impurities that may find their way into the pores of your skin. When these impurities become mixed with sweat and oil from your skin, there is a huge chance that inflammation will occur. Most of us rely on commercial skin care products to remove any toxins, dirt, oil, and whatever it is that is killing our skin but most of the time, we end up irritating our skin further because of the harsh chemicals that come with the products. But you don’t really need to spend a lot on these products because there are household remedies that you can try. Here are some to start with.

Coconut oil

There is no denying the power of coconut oil when it comes to treating the skin and if you want to have properly cleansed skin, you will find that this ingredient will work for you. You will need to warm up the oil first then apply on your skin using your fingertips. Massage for one to two minutes then let it sit for a few minutes. Use a cotton ball or pad afterwards to wipe off any excess oil. Do this twice a day to get beautiful looking skin.

Milk and oatmeal

Another household remedy that your skin will love is milk and oatmeal. The oatmeal absorbs any impurities that are lingering on the pores while milk heals and moisturizes the skin. Just mix a small amount of oatmeal with milk until you get a paste like consistency then apply on your skin. Leave it on for at least half an hour then wash it off afterwards. You will find that your skin will not only feel clean but it will be smooth and beautiful too.

Green tea

What else can you use for cleansing your skin? Well, green tea does work too. Make some green tea and add a bit of honey and lemon juice to taste. Drink this beverage two to three times in a day to load up in antioxidants. Antioxidants are sure to give your skin that cleansed look because the tea is cleaning you from the inside.

Honey

If you want to protect your skin from dirt, dust, oil, sweat, and other impurities or you want to heal and rejuvenate your skin, then honey is a good household remedy to try. One reason behind this is that honey contains antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties that can help heal any skin problems that you may have. Simply apply raw honey on your face and leave it on for a few minutes. Wash afterwards.

Lemon

Brightening the skin isn’t that hard to do when you have lemons around. Slice a lemon in half then rub one half on your skin with a circular motion. You should do this for five minutes. Rinse the juice after wards using cold water. One reason behind this is that lemon contains high amounts of vitamin C which can help lighten the skin. Use this regularly and you will find that your blemishes and scars will disappear.

Aloe vera

What else can you use to cleanse your skin? Aloe vera works too. The gel of the plant contains antiseptic properties that can remove any bacteria that are causing your skin to break out. Also, it works as a moisturizer so your skin feel tighter, smoother, and healthier too with regular application.
