DIY Hair Masks that You Need to Try

Must read

We spend hundreds of dollars on our hair all the time just to make it look great. But once we step outside and spend some time under the heat of the sun, you will find that your hair will look dry and frizzy especially when you go to the beach. Just imagine the combination of sweat, sand, and ocean water on your hair and you know you will need some serious treatments to bring back the natural health of your hair. Well, the good news is that there are plenty of hair masks that you can try to revive your hair but if you really want to get the best results, go and do DIY instead. Here are a few hair mask recipes for you to try.

Moisturizing hair mask

Dry hair is often prone to breaking which means you will need to replenish its lost moisture as soon as possible. Fortunately, you only need a few ingredients to help add more moisture to your dry hair and scalp and these are ¼ cup of whole fat yogurt, and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix these two together in a small bowl then apply evenly on your hair. Leave it on for 15 minutes to half an hour before washing it off and rinsing after. You will find that these two ingredients will make your hair feel soft and manageable afterwards.

Simple coconut hair mask

If you are not much into mixing ingredients for your hair, you just need one to actually revive your hair and that is coconut oil. This is probably the simplest mask that you can use to make your hair look and feel better. All that you have to do is to get a quarter cup of coconut oil and warm it up first as it needs to transform into liquid. Apply it on your hair, regardless of whether it is wet or dry, and leave it on for about an hour. You can wear a towel around you if you are going to work afterwards or stay in a bathtub so there will be less mess. If you plan on leaving it on for the entire night, you should wear a shower cap. Wash your hair afterwards until you have removed the oil.

Massage this solution on your scalp for a few minutes and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash your hair thoroughly afterwards with shampoo.

Avocado and egg yolk

Well, no hair mask recipe will be complete without some egg in it which is exactly what this recipe is all about. What’s great about this recipe is that, when you combine it with avocado, you will have a hair mask that can improve the amount of moisture on your hair and scalp. You will need 2 egg yolks and half an avocado. Mix the two together properly before applying on dry or wet hair. Leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes then rinse afterwards.
