Sun exposure

There is nothing wrong with getting a bit of sunshine as this is a good source of vitamin D. But if you tend to spend most of your time outdoors, under the heat of the sun, dark spots are sure to appear. This is because your skin starts to produce more melanin to help protect your skin against the UV rays that are being emitted by the sun.

How to Treat Dark Spots

Dark spots can be a source of embarrassment but the good news is that there are ways that can help prevent, and even treat them so you will be blemish free once more.  Here are a few treatments that will make your dark spots disappear.

Sunscreen

Before you step outside your home, make sure that you wear sunscreen at least 30 minutes prior to leaving. This way, the sunscreen will have time enough to be absorbed by the skin so that it will be protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Choose sunscreen that has a high SPF to better protect your skin from dark spots.

Castor oil

Another way to treat your dark spots is to use castor oil on the affected areas. Castor oil acts like a bleaching agent to your skin. You should apply castor oil on the dark spots twice a day. Gently rub the oil on the spot in a circular motion to get the desired results fast.

Honey and brown sugar

Making your own scrubs can also help lighten the dark spots that are marring your face. One of the easiest recipes to try is to combine some honey and brown sugar before massaging on your dark spots. Massage in a circular motion to help penetrate the skin. Do this remedy every two weeks and you will see those dark spots disappear.
