Beauty Products that You Can DIY

Must read

We tend to spend a lot of time in beauty boutiques looking at skin care products that can help us look great. Many of us are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for these products in the hopes that they can protect us against signs of aging and skin blemishes. But did you know that you can actually make your own beauty products at home? With the right ingredients and knowledge, not only will you be able to save money, but you’ll be able to take care of your skin quite safely too. Here are some beauty products that you can do on your own.

Chamomile and Oat Facial Cleanser

Facial cleansers can help remove any impurities that cling to your skin but some cleansers contain ingredients that can be harsh to the skin. Making your own can certainly improve the condition of your skin just like in the case of chamomile and oat facial cleanser. You will need some ground oats, bentonite clay, and chamomile. You will need freshly ground oats so run your ground oats into a grinder so you can create oat powder. To make this facial cleanser, you will need ¼ cup of dry rolled oats, 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay, 1 teabag of organic chamomile tea, and a glass container. Place 1 teaspoon of oat powder and the contents of your chamomile teabag in your spice grinder. Grind the contents thoroughly and place the contents in a bowl, mix it with the bentonite clay before transferring to your container. This cleanser is best used in the morning. Simply wash your face with warm water then add a small amount of powder on the palm of your hand, add a few drops of warm water, and mix before applying on your face. Avoid the area around the eyes. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing.

Honey Banana Hair Pack

Dull and tired looking hair can be revived with this hair pack. You will need to prepare a tablespoon of honey, 1 organic banana, and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Blend all the ingredients using a stick blender until there are no clumps anymore. Apply this mixture on your hair and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly afterwards with warm water to remove any residues.

Baking Soda Face Wash

We need to exfoliate our skin from time to time to remove the dead skin cells that accumulate on the surface. But using commercially made scrubs can be a bit abrasive on our skin which can actually aggravate our skin condition. Fortunately, you can make your own face wash using 1/3 cup of baking soda, 5 to 10 drops of Frankincense essential oil (optional), 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, and 5 drops of tea tree oil. All that you have to do is to mix these ingredients together and store them in an airtight container. Use as you would your usual facial scrub, making sure that you gently massage your face with it. The ingredients used here can remove dead skin without making your skin feel raw plus the tea tree oil and coconut oil are both healing and moisturizing elements that are good for your skin.
